Our concentrated, 8-week program teaches you exactly what you need to know to hit the ground running in a fast-paced, professional kitchen.

Park City Culinary Institute offers a concentrated, 8-week professional program for culinary arts in Utah. We are a registered school under the Utah post-secondary proprietary school act, bonded and insured.

Facility and Training Equipment: Classes will take place at the Deer Valley Club, in one of the original catering kitchens for Deer Valley / Park City, Utah. The facility features a Go-Pro cameras and flat-screen TVs, a Wolf range, both conventional and convection ovens, a french top, grill, Hobart mixer, commercial dishwasher and several walk-ins. There is also a fully-operational restaurant facility on the premises dedicated to student use, with capacity for over 60 people.

Faculty: Trained in Europe, and featured on NBC’s Today Show, Chef Houman Gohary brings over 30 years of experience as Executive Chef and Trainer. Founding instructor of the CIA at Greystone, Mary Cech is the Executive Pastry Chef. Chef Rebecca Millican joins us from the Institute of Culinary Education in New York, where she taught for eleven years. She is now the Executive Pastry Chef at la Caille Restaurant in Salt Lake City. Chef Gregory Neville was the acclaimed Chef behind Lugano Restaurant, rated by Zagat’s as one of the best Italian Restaurants in the country for nearly a dozen years. Chef Clement Gelas was born in France, and the Executive Chef of Wahso, the Waldorf Astoria Park City, and Talisker on Main. Our chefs have cooked for the James Beard Foundation, been featured on the Food Network, the Discovery Channel, and on NBC’s Today Show, they are featured in cookbooks, and have won numerous awards and credits.

Professional Certificate:  The 8-week Professional Certificate in Culinary Arts will be awarded to students completing the program and meeting the requirements for technique, professionalism, organization, and attendance. A multi-course student-run dinner will be the final project.

Campus Housing: Rooms are available in shared mountain homes with gourmet kitchens. Call for information.

Field Trips:  Students visit local farms, artisan cheesemakers, a local winery, and other destinations depending on the season. 

Job Placement Assistance: Park City Culinary Institute is committed to giving students an advantage over their peers when seeking jobs both in and outside of Park City. Park City’s top restaurants and chefs not only recruit our students, but participate in developing our curriculum and teaching our programs. Students may also find jobs in other ski areas such as Vail, Colorado and Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Certain employers, including Deer Valley, may offer higher wages to students that have received a Professional Certificate from Park City Culinary Institute. Historically, at Deer Valley, the hourly wage can be 11 to 17% higher than that offered to employees who have not completed professional training. All students receiving a Professional Certificate will be eligible for career counselling. Under no circumstance is Park City Culinary Institute guaranteeing job placement or wage and salary levels.
