Roy Olsen

Chef Roy Olsen is the Former Owner/Pastry Chef at BAKE 360, which he recently sold before joining our faculty. Prior to that, Roy served as the Executive Pastry Chef at Thanksgiving Point, and as the Pastry Chef at the St. Regis at Deer Crest where he achieved recognition for his artistic creations within fundraising activities.  Roy has a rich history of experience in the culinary arts that began in childhood when his family opened and operated numerous wholesale and retail bakeries throughout the Salt Lake Valley.  He honed his skills through positions held at Embassy Suites Hotel and Snowbird Ski Resort in addition to his primary role within his family’s business. He has a passion for creativity resulting in highly desirable offerings and a drive that leads him to be highly productive and efficient. His skills include baking at all altitudes, dough lamination, chocolate work, cake decorating, and assembling complementary flavors and ingredients. Roy opened, grew, and sold BAKE 360, winning five consecutive Best of State awards for pastry. He was also awarded three Best of State awards for café, and BuzzFeed featured BAKE 360 as Best Brunch in Utah. Roy is married with two children and enjoys gardening, woodworking, and spending time in the outdoors.
