Looking for affordable training you can take online? Our new Professional Cook Certification is just that.

Learn the techniques you need for the industry in just 5 short weeks. Refine your knife skills. Develop flavors in sauces. Butcher and fillet. Learn the best ways to cook vegetables and grains.

How It Works



You will be provided with demonstrations to watch on video, recipes, and instructions to follow during each Lab. These are provided ahead of time so that you can prepare for the lab with a LIVE Chef. 

Once enrolled, you will be given a shopping and equipment list for groceries and tools you may need. We can help you substitute anything you can’t easily purchase.




Labs are LIVE on Zoom with a Chef Mondays through Fridays for just over 5 weeks. There are 27 three-hour labs held Monday through Friday.

You will need to complete 70% of the labs and get a grade average of 3.5 or higher out of 5 in order to be Certified as a Professional Cook. If you can’t attend a scheduled lab, you can cook on your own and send in photos of your dishes to get credit.



During your time you will experience the basics of food science, techniques used by skilled Chefs, and how to properly manage your time.  

As you go through the course and complete the labs you will be able to experience a new level of cooking. You will get hands-on practice with meat, poultry and seafood, fresh-made pasta, hors d’oeuvres, potatoes, vegetables and grains.

About the chef

Evan Francois

Chef Evan Francois has led notable restaurants in both Colorado and Utah. He was the Executive Chef of the prestigious and award-winning Hotel Jerome in Aspen, Colorado, as well as the Executive Chef of Le Rouge. Chef Evan was recruited to Utah as Seafood Director, and to run several cooking schools for Harmons.

In Park City, he was the Executive Chef of both Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Main and Sky. He has extensive experience handling large catered events, media appearances, purchasing, training, and growing revenue. Chef Evan has won numerous awards and recognitions for his restaurants, including Forbes Four Stars.

Best of State

We wanted to build an independent Culinary School. Free to teach what we want. Focused on serving students, instead of depending on government funding. A school committed to quality, with award-winning Chefs. An alternative to trade schools. A culinary school short enough that anybody could attend.

We were honored to win Best of State in Culinary Education for both 2019 and 2020. City Weekly also awarded us Best Culinary School in their 2019 and 2020 Best of Utah awards. Our faculty has on average over 15 years of experience, including both real world and teaching experience.
